Updating your committee front page

Updating your committee homepage

This page will help you update your index properly so that your updates appear on the Taft College Committees Hub page.
  1. Upload your documents and create your meeting agenda/minutes page. For this step, please see the CMS training video. This training will walk you through everything you need to know to create a page. How you name your page is up to you. Most people will simply give it a MM-DD-YYYY-Agenda naming scheme. This will make it easier for you to find in the backend if you need to update this page in the future.

Find & copy the relative link to your new page. For this step you will want to navigate to the Pages section in the CMS. This is found in CMS -> Pages. Locate your page and mouse over the 3 dots (…). A menu will appear, in this menu you will click “Copy Relative Link” in this dropdown. This will copy the relative link to your page into your computers clipboard.

In step 3, you’ll need to locate your Committees Index (home) page. On this page is a table that needs to be kept updated. The Taft College Committees Hub page uses this table to update it’s list of updated committees. It is imperative you do NOT delete this table! You will add a new row above the current contents in the table. The top most item in this table will appear on the Committee Hub Page.

Click [Edit] button on your index page and in the page editor you’ll select the table. Place your cursor above and to the left of the top most row in the table. You will see a grey dot which will turn into a plus (+) icon. Click this to add a new row above the current row.

The first column in the table will contain the date of your update in MM/DD/YYYY format. This date is what the main committee hub page uses to indicate the date of the update. Please use this format in this table!

The second column is whatever you’ve decided to name the page you created in Step 1. You don’t have to use the full name here, this is just a link to the page. Let’s say the agenda you are posting is for Halloween, you might name this link “Oct 31st 2026 – My Committee Name – Agenda” for instance. This will make it easy to read at a glance, which committee the link is for, what date the update is for and whether it’s an agenda or some other update.  Select the full text of this column and click the Link icon to make this text a link. In the Link dialog, you will paste the relative link to your page that you copied to the clipboard in Step 2.

Bellow you will see an animation of this process.
