Do This First!

On your cell phone, download and install either the “PortalGuard Password Resetor “Google Authenticator” app from your appropriate app store.
Note: The App should only be used for delivery of OTP for the purposes of authentication, do not perform password changes inside the App, go back to your browser to complete the password change.

Mobile Authenticator Enrollment Directions

Before proceeding with these instructions, please ensure you have installed either Google Authenticator or Portal Guard Password Reset on your device. These apps are available for both Android and Apple iOS devices. Please read the notice at the top of this page! Also note that it is the end user’s responsibility to install the appropriate app on their personal devices!

Navigate to the Taft College homepage, and click MyTC in the menu at the very top of the page.

Enter your Taft College username and password, then Click Login.

Select user name (Top right corner)  to open the quick menu then select Edit Profile.

Click on the down arrow next to your name
Click on your name and click Edit Profile

Select Mobile Authenticator from Menu

Then click the  Enable mobile authenticator link.

Click Enable mobile authenticator

Select your phone from the Phone Type dropdown.

  • iPhone
  • Android
  • BlackBerry
  • Windows

Click the Continue button.

Select your phone type from the dropdown then click continue

Run the newly installed app on your cell phone and aim your camera at the QR code that displays on the computer screen.

  • A passcode will display on your phone, enter it in the One Time Passcode field.

Then click the Continue button.

Tip: For the Google Authenticator App tap the Google Authenticator Plus Icon icon, and tap Scan A QR Code.

Open the app on your phone and follow the apps instructions to enroll via QR Code. Then point your camera at the QR Code generated within MyTC

A “Self-Service Action Successful” message should display.

You have successfully enrolled your device

Looking at your Account Management screen should not confirm your enrolled device including information such as when it was enabled, last time it was used to authenticate & the type of device enrolled.

You can check the status of your mobile authentication in the Mobile Authenticator section in MyTC

Tip: You can disable your mobile authenticator in this section by clicking the Disable mobile authentication link in the Mobile Authenticator section of your Account Management screen.

Click on your user name followed by Logout (Top right hand corner)

Select your name, then click Logout
