Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA provides a second layer of protection to deter unauthorized access to our system and will ensure our systems remain highly available while maintaining security.
Attention Students
Beginning with the fall 2025 semester, all Taft College students will be required to use 2 factor authentication (2FA) whenever accessing college online resources from off campus, this will include canvas, email, and office 365. We are encouraging all students to set up 2FA now and become familiar with the process before it becomes mandatory. For assistance, please reach out to Taft College Admissions and Records (661) 763-7700, or the information technology department (661) 763-7737.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a second layer of security to protect our system and sensitive data from unauthorized users. The 2FA will use two forms of identity before allowing you access to the system:
- Enter your Taft College username and password.
- Use a physical device such as a phone, tablet, or external email to confirm your identity.
A message is sent with a One-Time Passcode (OTP) to type in to complete the 2FA process. You may also install the Google Authenticator app on your phone or tablet for your convenience.
No. Although, the Google Authenticator app is the most convenient 2nd factor option, you are not required to install it on your device. If you are interested in the Google Authenticator app, it is a small app so it would take up little room on your phone. It’s free and can be installed on your cell or a tablet.

Enter your username and password
with your OTP(One Time Passcode).
(Sorry, you have to get an OTP to get a list of OTP’s)
On the right of your screen is your username with a down arrow. Click on it and select, “Edit Profile”.
